Who is squash for?
Enjoy one-on-one games and changes of pace? Squash combines movement with tactical shot placement. You do not need prior experience, but start with a partner of a similar level and learn how to move safely around each other.
How do you play squash?
Players take turns hitting the ball so that it reaches the front wall within the legal area before touching the floor. It may hit a side or back wall on the way. Return it before its second bounce. If your opponent is in the path of the racket or ball, stop the rally rather than risk hitting them.
Squash scoring
The winner of each rally scores a point. Games are played to 11, with a two-point lead required at 10-all. Matches are usually best of five games; you can agree a shorter format for casual play.
