Who is pickleball for?
Try pickleball if you would like to explore a new racket sport. Short rallies help you get used to the paddle and the ball’s flight. Intensity depends on the pace and players’ ability, so choose a level of effort that suits you.
How do you play pickleball?
The receiver must let the serve bounce, and the serving side must let the return bounce. Volleys are allowed only after those two bounces. In the area beside the net, known as the kitchen, you may play a ball after it bounces but may not volley. Your momentum after a volley must not carry you into the zone or onto its line.
Pickleball scoring
Under traditional scoring, only the serving side can score. Games are usually played to 11, with a two-point lead required. Rally-scoring formats also exist. Agree the system before playing, or check the league regulations.
